OTAGO was founded by design duo Anna Rose and Eddie Sercombe in 2013. They met whilst studying at the Glasgow School of Art; Anna in Fine Art - Sculpture and Eddie in Design - Textiles.
Anna lived in Kenya for five years, working with fair trade community projects producing jewellery and accessories for a range of high profile brands including Whistles, Nicole Fahri and Topshop. On returning to the UK, she pursued a career in interior design, working for brands such as the Firmdale Hotel Group and Alexander Waterworth.
Eddie’s extensive travels throughout Southern and Eastern Africa inspired much of her own textile work. Her career began in fashion, before moving into fine art working for Damien Hirst, where she developed a keen eye for luxury fine objects and historical artifacts. From there she returned to her passion of textiles and worked in the costume department for several major Film and Television productions.
